Title: All-American Burgers

1 Clove garlic, minced, OR:
2tbCatsup
2tbFinely chopped onion
1tbSteak sauce
1tbCooking oil
1tbWorcestershire sauce
1tsSugar
1tsVinegar
  Dashes hot pepper sauce
1lbLean ground beef
1/4tsSalt
1/4tsPepper
4 Hamburg. buns,sliced,toasted
  Lettuce leaves (opt)
  American cheese slices (opt)
  Pickle slices (opt)
  Red onion slices (opt)

o For sauce, in a saucepan, combine garlic, catsup, steak sauce, sugar, vinegar, cooking oil, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper suace; bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.

o Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine beef, salt, and pepper; mix well. Form meat mixture into four 3/4" thick patties. Grill on an uncovered grill directly over MEDIUM coals for 15 to 18 minutes or till well-done, turning once and brushing often with sauce.

o Serve patties in buns with lettuce, cheese, tomato, pickle, and onion, if desired.
